Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home was inducted into the National Funeral Director Association’s Hall of Excellence for its continued participation in the Pursuit of Excellence program. After thirteen years of dedication, Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home was one of four funeral homes worldwide to receive the award in 2020.

For thirteen consecutive years, Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home has been awarded the Pursuit of Excellence Award. We continue to exceed business standards set forth by the program and demonstrate proficiency in key areas of funeral service, such as compliance with state and federal regulations; providing ongoing education and professional development opportunities for staff; offering outstanding programs and resources to bereaved families; maintaining an active level of involvement within the community; participating and actively serving in the funeral service profession; and promoting funeral home services through a variety of marketing, advertising, and public relations programs.
American Funeral Director's 2012 Funeral Director of the Year
In 2012, Martha Thompson, owner of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home was named Funeral Director of the Year, the first female to ever receive the title. Martha stood out from dozens of other nominees by being an innovative, compassionate, and community-oriented individual. With a strong sense of determination and an urge to be ever-changing, she believes in honoring families' loved ones in a unique and personalized way.
Ponchatoula Chamber of Commerce 2018 Business of the Year
In 2018, Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home was selected as Ponchatoula Business of the Year. Criteria for nomination included exemplifying excellent customer service, offering community and professional outreach, and providing innovative products and services. It was a tremendous honor to be selected by the Board of Directors and represent the wonderful city of Ponchatoula.
