Vickie Jones

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Vickie Jones. Vickie passed away on the morning of February 22, 2025, surrounded by her family and friends. She was born on December 30, 1963, to Alex and Leatrice Vampran. Vickie grew up in Kenner, LA, and moved to Ponchatoula in 1975. She graduated from Ponchatoula High School in 1982 and was employed at North Oaks Medical Center for over 18 years. Vickie met the love of her life in 1986 and shared 34 beautiful years of marriage with her husband Brian “BJ” Jones. Together, they created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and love. Vickie and BJ were known for hosting fun and unforgettable gatherings at their home, always welcoming friends and family. Vickie’s outgoing and fun-loving spirit is what we will cherish most. She never met a stranger and had a way of making everyone she met feel loved and seen. To Vickie, family and friends were her greatest treasures. She had a heart of gold, and to know her was to love her. Vickie is remembered by a very close circle of friends and work family who were blessed to have shared in her love and friendship. Vickie is survived by her beloved husband, Brian “BJ” Jones; mother, Leatrice Pinion Vampran; brother, Chris Vampran; sisters, Kim Vampran Prokop (Alex), Michelle Vampran Watkins (Michael); mothers-in-law, Patricia Jones, Rita Wall; brothers-in-law, Artie Jones II (Manti), Paul Jones; sisters-in-law, Tyra Jones, Carrie Granier (Michael); as well as her many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Alex Vampran; and father-in-law, Artie Jones. A special thank you to all who supported Vickie in her battle with liver cancer. All of you prayers, donations, and kind thoughts/words did not go unnoticed and gave her hope through it all. We also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Vickie’s professional medical staff: Dr. Charles Ducombs, Dr. Zacharia, Dr. Tanios, Dusty Garafola, and Mary Ransom. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home at 12012 Hwy 190 W Hammond, LA 70401 on Friday, February 28, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. until the funeral service at 12:30 p.m. Interment will follow in Maurepas Community Cemetery.
