Rev. Tim Hill

Tim Hill, age 67, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of faith, family, friendship, service, and innovation that will continue to live on in the many lives he touched. He was an avid gardener who found happiness in the outdoors and in watching things grow. He was a passionate tractor enthusiast and a proud member of the tractor community, serving as President of Chapter 31 of the International Harvester Association. Among Tim's greatest joys were his children and grandchildren, whom he loved dearly and cherished every moment. His dogs were also an important part of his life, and his love for them was evident to everyone who knew him. He enjoyed old gospel music, the excitement of rollercoasters, and trips to Disney World with his family. Tim's impact extended far beyond his hobbies and interests. He was a minister of music and devoted much of his life to serving others through his faith and his love of music. He was also a true trailblazer in the professional sound and recording industry. Through his knowledge, creativity, and willingness to lead the way, he helped shape an industry and opened doors for others who followed. He was deeply involved in his community and could always be counted on to lend his time, talents, and energy to the many organizations, activities, and causes that mattered to him. Tim had a remarkable ability to make connections with people, and his presence made a difference wherever he went. He lived a full and meaningful life, never afraid to pursue the things he loved and never too busy to make a difference in the lives around him. Tim is survived by his loving wife of 39 wonderful years, Julie Hill; daughter, Deryn Faith Hill Brown and husband Wesley; son, Dakota Hill; sisters, Sylvia Trisler and Vicky Stringer; sister-in-law, Paula S. Dykes; brother-in-law, Steve Stevens and wife Jeannie; grandchildren, Remi Claire Brown and Gabe Tomlinson; mother-in-law, Ava H. Stevens; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Tim is preceded in death by his father, Millard Hill; mother, Goldie Gates Breland; beloved father-in-law, Glenn Stevens; brothers-in-law, Lyman “Lucky” Dykes and Michael Stringer; many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins, including Charlie and Daisy Smith and Linnie and Huey Preston McLin; and many beloved friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation in the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home 12012 Hwy. 190 W. Hammond, LA 70401, on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The visitation will resume Thursday, August 20, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. until the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Higginbotham Family Cemetery. Even in his passing, Tim continued his lifelong legacy of giving to others. Through his donation to LOPA, he gave the gift of sight, allowing others the opportunity to see the world through eyes that came from his final act of generosity. It is a fitting testament to a man who spent his life sharing his gifts, serving others, and making a difference.
