Richard John Yuhasz

Richard John Yuhasz entered into his heavenly home on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at the age of 89 surrounded by his loving family. He was a native of Albany, Louisiana and a resident of Holden, Louisiana. Richard proudly served in the United States Army from 1957-1959. He later retired as a manager at Western Auto in Albany after working there for close to 40 years. Richard was a faithful longtime servant of Albany First Baptist Church. He could always be found doing things around the church, whether it was sweeping the floors, emptying the garbage, or filling the baptistry. Richard had a beautiful voice and loved using it to sing about his Lord and Savior. He was a great husband, father, and friend that will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Richard is survived by his son, Brian Yuhasz and his wife “Daughter #2”, Cindy Yuhasz; daughter; Christal Glascock and her husband, Gary Glascock; and siblings, Catherine Kives, Carol Turnage, and John Yuhasz. Richard is preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Alice Persick Yuhasz; and parents, John and Elizabeth Zoller Yuhasz. The family would like to extend a special thank you to his niece, Pennie Vicknair LaCombe, who he referred to as his daughter, and her husband Rick for their generosity. Your helping hand along with your unwavering love and support was appreciated more than you will ever know. The family would like to extend another special thank you to Lisa Toups, who he referred to as “His Angel”. Your willingness to go the extra mile did not go unnoticed. Thank you for your dedication and commitment. Your efforts made a significant impact and we are forever grateful. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Music Ministry at Albany First Baptist Church. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home in Hammond on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. The service will be officiated by Bro. Eddie Koch, Bro. John Cook, Bro. Michael Bush, and Dr. Eric Holleyman. Pallbearers will be John Yuhasz, Dewitt Bradham, Rick LaCombe, Benton Morgan, David Watts, and Woody Watts. Interment will follow at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.
