Lynn Warren Koehn

Lynn Warren Koehn was born to Menno and Charity( Eicher) Koehn on April 1,1944, in Norristown, PA. He passed away in the evening hours of July 15, 2026. After his parents finished giving of their time in 1W service, they moved back to Walnut Hill, Florida, where he lived his childhood years. Dad gave his heart to the Lord and joined the Church of God in Christ Mennonite Church on March 24, 1956. On January 17, 1965, Dad married Virginia Schmidt of Deridder, La. Together they had 7 children. Dad enjoyed trying many different occupations, but always returned to painting for which he had great talent. Dad was very big hearted and never met a stranger. He enjoyed many friends, often greeting them with a very FIRM handshake. If you came around at mealtimes you would be persuaded to come in and eat a bite. He got his pilot license, and enjoyed giving fun rides in his Cessna plane. In his middle years, Dad’s life took a slightly different path. The last 42 years Dad lived in Independence, LA., painting with two of his sons. His son Delano passing away on December 31,2010, brought him much sadness. A few years later Dad suffered a stroke weakening his health and greatly impairing his speech. It did not slow him down though from cruising around in his electric wheel chair, visiting friends and neighbors, giving out a hearty YEAH…a lil bit, a lil bit! Those left to remember him with love are: Tany Koehn of DeRidder, LA; Toxey and Tonia of Independence, LA; Yovanee and Nathan Giesbrecht of Glen, CA; Varr and Gina Koehn of DeRidder, LA; Etaun and Holly of Independence, LA; Mijuanou and Brian Unruh of Coon Valley, WI; our mother, Virginia Koehn of DeRidder, LA; 20 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard and Wilma Koehn of Walnut Hill, IL; and two sisters, Barbara Loewen of Walnut Hill, IL, and Alice and Norman Keator of Albuquerque, NM. Preceding him in death are his parents, one son, and one brother-in-law Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation in the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home 1190 Hwy. 51 North Ponchatoula, LA 70454, on Monday, July 20, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until the Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at New Haven (Serenity) Baptist Church Cemetery.
