Elwood Lee Daniels It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Elwood Lee Daniels, age 75, on June 10, 2025. Elwood was a native of Albany, Louisiana and a resident of Hammond, Louisiana. He was a heavy equipment operator in construction, and he always enjoyed working on heavy equipment whether it was at work or at home. Elwood proudly served his country in the United States Navy apart of the crash crew at the Naval Air Station in Florida, and later finished his career in Norfolk, Virginia. He loved going to the VA and talking with the veterans, listening to their stories and sharing his own. Elwood could always be found outdoors. He loved the woods, racing cars, going hunting in Mississippi and fishing every chance he could get. His heart was kind and true. If he liked you then he REALLY liked you. Elwood was a dedicated husband, family man, and devoted dad, and proud Paw Paw. Elwood was a nice, kind, gentle, patient, and soft-spoken man. His kindness, his devotion to family, his unwavering love for his daughter, granddaughter, and mother of his child will never be forgotten and painfully missed. Despite facing numerous health challenges all throughout his life, he never lost his sense of humor or bravery to battle the fights. He was a man of quiet strength with loyalty, love, and nerves of steel; bravery beyond measure and a man of few words. He lived by the honor system, a simple hand-shake, and you had his word on it. All the love he gave us – we will always feel loved, and never alone. Elwood was a homebody and made wonderful memories with his daughter and granddaughter that they will hold on to for the rest of their lives. He was extremely devoted to his girls, and willing to help them with whatever they needed. They remember him enjoying his crime shows and old westerns, and always spoiling his sweet pet rabbit, Patches and all the fur animals his daughter and granddaughter brought around. Elwood was a light to all who knew him, able to turn any stranger to friend. His memory will be cherished, and he will always be loved by all who had the chance to know him. Elwood is survived by his former wife and loving caretaker, Karen; his daughter, Krissy Daniels; granddaughter, Kyleigh Daniels; sister, Sandra Wagner; brothers, Barry Daniels (Sue) and Ronnie Daniels (Sheree). Elwood is preceded in death by his parents, Elbert “Zeke” Elwood and Willie Dea Daniels; brother, Tommy Daniels Sr. and sister, Beverly Annette Farris. A cremation has been held and a Celebration of Life memorial service will be announced at a later date.
