Dale Earl Roberts

Dale, age 61, went to meet his Lord and Savior, Thursday, August 6, 2020, while surrounded by his wife and daughters. Throughout his entire life, Dale was a selfless man with a great love for his family and friends. He was a true man of God and a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. For more than 40 years, Dale was a dedicated employee of Atmos Entergy, and was jokingly known as “Peter Perfect” by his fellow co-workers. He was a 20 year Life Member of the Ponchatoula Fire Department. For 14 years he was also a member of Hammond’s Krewe of Omega and he and his wife, Cathy, reigned as King and Queen Omega XXXI. Dale was a simple man who loved tending to his vegetable garden and woodworking. He was generous with both his time and his talents. Dale was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend who is already dearly missed by all who knew him. Dale is survived by his adoring wife of 43 years, Catherine ‘Cathy’ Roberts; daughters, Nicole Dillon, and Megan Eppes (Marshall); grandchildren, Collin Allen Dillon E4 / 3rd Class Seaman (Jamie), Eli Dale Eppes, Palmer Kay Eppes; Great-granddaughter, Kora Shay Dillon; siblings Carolyn R. Bergeron, Larry F. Roberts (Becky), Frances R. Poche, Sherry L. Roberts, Debby R. Gomez, Bonnie R. Clay (Timmy), Sherry F. Michelli (Donald); along with numerous nieces and nephews. Dale is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Leola Roberts; twin infant daughters, Catie and Janie Roberts; and brothers-in-law, Bush Bergeron, Rufus Poche, and Milton Brad Gomez. In lieu of flowers, family requests that donations please be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center, and/or North Oaks Hospice. Thank You PONCHATOULA, LA. Thompson Funeral Home, Ponchatoula Sunday August 9, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Services will resume at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ponchatoula, Monday August 10, 2020 with a Funeral Mass starting at 11:00 a.m. Father Paul McDuffie will officiate with interment to follow in Rosaryville Cemetery.
