Charles Ferrell Sullivan

Charles Ferrell Sullivan “The Road Goes on Forever” Charles, age 85, went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, January 1, 2025. He was born in Jeanerette, Louisiana lived in New Iberia and was a longtime resident of Hammond, Louisiana. Charles retired early after working as an offshore operations foreman for Shell Oil Company for thirty years. He is an Army and Marine veteran and proudly served his country. He was a member of the Masons, the American Legion, the Cruising Cajuns, and he was an assistant coach for the Holy Ghost football team. Charles was extremely strong in his faith, and he knew his bible and loved the Lord with all his heart. He dedicated his time to the Lord by helping teach Sunday school and sharing his knowledge of the bible with his students. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved his family. Charles never met a stranger. He had an astounding ability to make friends with anyone he met, being sure to share his love and kindness. Charles was generous, always helping others that were less fortunate. He loved to cook for people and entertaining was his specialty. Charles loved classic country music, the rodeo, and he was an avid reader. He and his family traveled to Nashville so he could take his children to the Grand Ole Opry to share his love of music with them. Charles and Ella spent nearly 30 years on the road in their RV, making new friends everywhere they went. He loved to travel and explore America. Charles was an extremely hard worker and very good provider. Even in passing, he is still providing for his family. Charles will be forever loved and missed by all who know him. Charles is survived by his son, Kevin Sullivan (Fiona); daughter, Kim Hall; sister, Denise Vernon (John); sister-in-law, Marie Sullivan; grandchildren, Isla and Aoife Sullivan and Brittany Hall Rizzuto, and numerous nieces and nephews. Charles is preceded in death by his loving wife of 43 years, Ella Sullivan; his parents, Lloyd and Juanita Sullivan; stepson, Timmy Latino; brother, Jerry Michael Sullivan; and his sister, Ellen Sullivan Henson. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project and or Grace Baptist Church. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Visitation in the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home on Monday, January 6, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. Internment to follow at Rose Memorial Cemetery.
