Alesha Dawn Henderson

Revelation 21:4 “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” Alesha Dawn Henderson of Livingston, Louisiana, passed peacefully in her sleep at her home on June 1, 2026 at the age of 52. Alesha was born on November 1, 1973, to Dale and Sue Henderson. Alesha was born with many special needs, and her parents considered it their privilege to care for her. Even from a young age, Alesha did not allow her disabilities to hinder her. She was able to travel the world and enjoy her favorite things, from listening to the Inspirations Quartet in the Smoky Mountains to Disney World to see her favorite Mickey Mouse. She also attended rodeos, fairs, church camp meetings, Henderson family auctions, and many birthday parties. She spent many hours listening and singing along with her favorite gospel music, Disney tunes, and nursery rhymes. She loved teasing those around her and gave special nicknames for all of her friends and family. She loved watching Bob Barker on the Price is Right every morning with her breakfast, along with Sesame Street, Winnie the Pooh, and Mickey Mouse. Although she was a woman of few words, she touched many hearts throughout her joyful life. Alesha taught all those who knew her lessons in patience, humility, gratitude, and most of all the sanctity of all lives. Though our hearts ache at her absence, her spirit seems to remind us that this is not forever but only TTFN “Ta Ta For Now.” Alesha is survived by her brothers and sister-in-law, Lloyd Henderson and Delmond and Ashley Wright Henderson. She loved spending time with all of her nieces and nephews: Demi Henderson Bush and husband Brennan, Joseph L. Henderson and wife Lauren, Samuel Henderson, Lucy Henderson, Bonnie Henderson, Case Henderson, Hudson Henderson, Glynleigh Sue Henderson, and Wyatt Henderson. She is also survived by her great niece, Magnolia Bush, and great aunt Daisy Smith. Alesha was also loved and survived by her uncles and aunts, Wayne and Carolyn Henderson, Sonny and Debbie Hood, Patsy Ouber, and Mildred Henderson. She is also survived by 17 first cousins and numerous other family and friends. Alesha is preceeded in death by her parents Dale and Sue Hood Henderson; grandparents Joseph Lawrence (J. L.) and Gladys Willie Henderson; and Norris and Beatrice Hood; uncles and aunts, Alex Ouber, Clyde Henderson, Marvin and Audrey Henderson, and Valery and Laverne Henderson Watts. The family wishes to thank all those who cared for Alesha in her lifetime including but not limited to Mary Ethel (Nanny), Norvella, Juanita, Sandy, Linda, Kulnisha, Rochelle, Wendy, and Bernita. Services for Alesha Dawn Henderson will be held Monday, June 8, 2026 at Fundamental Baptist Church, Livingston, Louisiana. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am with the funeral starting at 1:00 pm, conducted by cousins Bro. Arvin Harrell and Bro. Jonathan Watts. Pallbearers will be Paul Ouber, Brent Ouber, Rusty Hood, Phillip Watts, Ryland Watts, Joseph Henderson, and Samuel Henderson. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Henderson, Sonny Hood, and Bro. Paul Taylor. Music will be provided by her cousins Jeremy Henderson and Tammy Watts Hardy. Alesha will be buried between her parents at Oak View Baptist Church following the funeral.
