William "Clay" Dennis

January 24, 1967 - February 14, 2022

Clay, age 55, passed away on Monday, February 14, 2022, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was a resident of Independence, LA. Clay was an incredible pool player and a member of several different leagues. He travelled all over the country participating in numerous pool tournaments. Clay went and shot pool every single night and made many friends along the way. He also enjoyed fishing and liked to call himself a "mechanic." Clay was truly a one-of-a-kind man that will be forever missed. He is survived by his sister, Connie Phelps, and husband Jeff; cousin and best friend, William Anthony; multiple nieces and nephews; and a tremendous number of friends. Clay is preceded in death by his parents, Judy and Eddie Rundell; father, Clifford Dennis Sr.; sister, Robbie Vicknair; brother, Clifford Owen Dennis Jr.; and nephew, Eddie James Driggers. Donations may be made to the funeral home to assist the family with funeral expenses. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, 12012 Hwy 190 W. Hammond, LA 70401, on Friday, February 25, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday, February 26, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Reid-Raines Memorial Gardens.
