Tressie Davis Hodges

Tressie D. Hodges, of Walker, LA, passed away at her home on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at the age of 96. For many years she sat at the door of the Old South Jamboree welcoming the community to the show each Saturday night. When she could pull Lester away for a week or two, Tressie loved to travel and enjoyed family trips out west. When home, she enjoyed ceramics, her dolls, and loved to collect knick knacks to add to her collection. She was known for growing beautiful flowers, especially her roses. Anyone that knew her, knew she was always feeding or tending to her animals. She loved and cared for her birds, squirrels and coons and enjoyed watching her wildlife from the door or window until her last days. Tressie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, and friend to many. Visitation will be at Brandon Thompson Funeral Home in Denham Springs, on Friday, March 18, from 10 a.m. until service at 12 p.m. Burial will be at Minton Cemetery in Walker, LA. She is survived by her children, Joy Hodges Vaccaro, Cynthia Lee and husband, Hayden, and Reubin Hodges; grandchildren, Brannon McMorris, Bronwynn Cobb and husband, Derek, Ethan Lee and wife, Brennan, Jamie McMorris and wife, Jennifer, and Dana Hodges; great-grandchildren, Westin and Orrin Cobb, Jacob McMorris, Case and Kit Lee, Kenlea Wilkinson, Shelby Murphy, Colt Murphy and wife, Hailey; great-great grandchild, Dixie Murphy; sister-in-law Velton Bergeron; as well as other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Hester Davis; husband of almost 69 years, James Lester Hodges; brother, Lester Davis. A very special thanks goes out to her caregivers and Heart of Hospice for their loving services.
