Sarah Faust Bankston

September 23, 1937 - February 14, 2022

Sarah, age 84, joined her baby girl in Heaven on Monday, February 14, 2022. She was a lifelong resident of Albany, LA. Sarah was a parishioner of St. Margaret Catholic Church, but also attended mass at St. Albert. She was the co-owner of Bankston Auto Parts where she dedicated many years helping to run the business. Sarah was truly an incredible mother but an even better Nannie. She was most happy with a baby in her arms and surrounded by her grandchildren. Sarah was an incredible cook and took great pride in feeding and caring for her family. She was an extremely strong woman who always put others first. Sarah left her family with wonderful memories and will be forever missed. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Raymond Bankston; children, Eric Bankston, Chris Bankston (Sheila), Kim Stewart (Thomas); sister, Barbara Wilson (Don); grandchildren, Kacie Watts (Dustin), Taylor Thompson (Caleb), Trent Stewart; and great-grandchildren, Beckett, Jack, Everett, Emmett, and Drew. Sarah is preceded in death by her mother, Annie B. Faust; father, Taft Faust Sr.; daughter, Jacquelyn Bankston; sisters, Norma Leggette Bryan, Roberta "Bobbie" Foster; and brothers, Wiley Faust, and Taft Faust Jr. Pallbearers will be Trent Stewart, Dustin Watts, Caleb Thompson, Chip Faust, Errol Faust, and Ben Foster with Ricky Leggette and David Harris as honorary pallbearers. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, 12012 Hwy 190 W. Hammond, LA 70401, on Saturday, February 19, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Margaret Catholic Church at 1:00 p.m. Fr. Jamin David will officiate with interment to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
