Ronald "Ron" Wayne Folds Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Ronald Wayne Folds was born on July 26, 1950, in Lake Charles, LA. He is the son of the late Buck and Clara Folds. Ron was born and raised in Westlake, La. and was a member of the Westlake High School graduating class of 1968. After high school, Ron enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. In July of 1971, while stationed in Beaufort, SC, he met the love of his life and future wife, Nancy Verdun. Ron and Nancy were married on December 18, 1971, having two children, Scott Wayne and Jeffery Michael. Ron took pride in his children, because in his eyes they were his greatest accomplishments. Throughout his life, he enjoyed traveling and scuba diving, but his family and faith were the most important to him. He made sure to spend as much time as he could with his wife, kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ron was without a doubt the rock of his family and he will forever be in the hearts of those that knew him. Those left to cherish in his memory are his wife of 50 years, Nancy, his sons; Scott (Missy) of Gonzales,LA., Jeffery (Kristine) Gulf Breeze, FL., and his daughter-in-love, Rhonda Oldham Folds of Gonzales, LA. Grandchildren; Summer (Tyler) Mere of Denham Springs, LA., Brooklyn Folds of Baton Rouge, LA., Laikyn and Bailee Folds of Dequincy, LA., and Landen Davis of Gulf Breeze, FL. Great Grandchildren; Stella Anastasia Mere and Trenton Eric Mere both of Denham Springs, LA. Brothers; Dale (Linda) Folds of Ragley, LA., Dowell (Cheryl) Folds of Rayne, LA., and sister Diana (John) Renthrop of Lake Charles, LA. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Buck and Clara Folds of Westlake, LA and his brother Charles Dupuy of San Francisco, CA. In lieu of flowers the family asks donations to be made to First United Methodist Church in Denham Springs. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at First United Methodist Church of Denham Springs on Sunday, July 17, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. until the memorial service at 2:00 p.m. An interment will be held at a later date at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, FL.
