Tributes

Richard, age 80, went to his heavenly home Friday, February 12, 2021. He was born in Ponchatoula and was a longtime resident of Springfield, LA. Richard was a truly gifted mechanic. He once built a working Mustang using only spare parts he collected in boxes. Richard’s family always came first in his life. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle who is already dearly missed by those who loved him. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Wanda Kay Forrest Threeton; daughter, Kimberly Threeton Brabham (Brett); granddaughters, Courtney Cornett Copeland (Devin), Kathryn Rose Cornett, Hailey Brabham, and Emily Brabham; sisters, Shirley Dick, Sally Parent, Brenda Corkern, Frances Marshall; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Emmett and Mildred Threeton; sister, Lucy Fontenot; and brothers, Joe, Glen, and Kenny Threeton. Pallbearers: Raymond, Timmy, and Craig Holden, Jarhett Threeton, Devin Copeland, and Brendan Anderson. Special appreciation is extended to Dr. Steve Gaudin, Dr. Jay Heintz, and Dr. Howard Miller and the staff of Landmark Nursing Center especially nurses, Kaelyn, Jacquel, Angel, and Anna. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation at the Chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, 12012 Hwy 190 West, Hammond, LA on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the start of the Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will immediately follow in Old Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
