    Nancy Atchley Johnston

    June 24, 1936 - May 1, 2022

    Nancy Atchley Johnston Nancy Atchley Johnston passed away during the early morning hours of May 1, 2022, following a series of health issues. She lived a full and vibrant life of 85 years and 10 months. Nancy enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing and crafting, especially when it involved dolls. She was an avid doll maker and collector, and a longtime member of the Northshore Doll Club. Nancy was a lifetime member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha sorority, which is a community and collegiate service organization. She spent almost 40 years providing accounting services for a variety of oilfield service companies. Nancy will be remembered for her love and dedication to her family and her fun sense of style. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Harry Ollen Johnston. She is survived by her daughters LaFon Johnston Ortis and husband Avery, RoJeana Johnston Roberts and husband Mark; her sons Gary Johnston and wife Pauline, Terry Johnston and wife Sheri; grandchildren Avery Dean, Justin, Michael and Kyla Ortis, Brittany Johnston, Chris Johnston, Jennifer Johnston Hughes, Amanda Johnston Small, Mary Catherine Johnston, Jackie Johnston Windham, Jordan Roberts Cunningham, and Josh Loyd-Roberts. She is also survived by her great grandchildren Kaitlyn Ortis and Keaton Wilson, Seth Johnston, Garrett Johnston-Fremin, Bella and Jaycob Johnston, Everly, Liam, and Amelia Windham, Addisyn, Ella Grace and Jack Cunningham, Shelby Loyd-Roberts, and Phillip Blount; her sisters Betty Flinchum and Angela Goldsmith, and brothers John and Lanny Atchley. Nancy was also preceded in death by her parents Judd Atchley and Mary Snyder Atchley Crutcher; her sisters Aline Kuykendall, Martha Sublett, and a granddaughter Victoria Johnston. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, Hammond, on Saturday, May 7, 2022, from 9:30 am until services begin at 11:00 am. Bro. Dustin Cunningham will officiate the services.
