Mildred, age 74, passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021. She was a long time resident of Holden, LA. Mildred enjoyed crafts, but had a special place for quilting. She attended ballgames at Holden High School well after her children graduated and even volunteered her time working at the school. Mildred was by far the biggest Holden Rockets fan. She was most happy surrounded by her family, especially her grandkids. Mildred carried the title "Mill-Mill" with pride. She truly was a one-of-a-kind that left a huge impact on all who knew her and will be forever missed. Mildred is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert Lee Oliphant; daughters, Gloria Horton (James), Faye Oliphant, Mary Oliphant; sisters, Peggy Kirby, Debbie Warren (Rick), Pansy Purvis; brother, Arnold Purvis; grandchildren, Summer (Jason), Erica Casey (David), Alicia Smith (Trever) Matthew Husser; great-grandchildren, Dillon, Noah, Mason, Travis, Sara, Alice, Briggs; and numerous nieces and nephews who considered her a bonus mom or grandmother. She is preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Othella Purvis; sister, Mary Jean Purvis; and great-granddaughters, Alaina and Victoria Baham. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, 12012 Hwy 190 W. Hammond, LA 70401, on Saturday, December 11, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Russell Hinson will officiate and interment will follow in Oliphant Family Cemetery.
