July 3, 1941 - December 1, 2021
Boots, age 80, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, December 1, 2021. Outside her home, she worked for the Louisiana Department of Health, where she ultimately retired. Jesus and her family were Boots’ passion in life. She wouldn’t hesitate to share the Gospel with whomever she came in contact with. For many years she led children’s ministry and also adult Sunday school. She loved spending time outside doing yardwork, she outfished most men, and inside you’d often find her cooking up something special for the family or sitting down at her table writing a personal card or a poem to everyone. Boots was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who is already dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Boots is survived by her daughters, Charlene Hoyt (Joey), Lurlene Stratton (Ben); son, Charles W. Wagner, Jr. (Shelly); son-in-law, David Hill; grandchildren, Mandy Duncan, Laramie Hill, Cory Wagner, Shelly Wayne Hill, Lacey Whitehead, Benjamin Stratton; great-grandchildren, Laniey Hoyt, Baylor Duncan, Dilyn, Ethan, Charleigh Grace Hill, Chloe and Cole Hill, Ashton, Weston and Eli Wagner, Gracie and Brody Whitehead, Paisley Stratton; great great-grandchildren, Kaston, and Lacelynn Howes; sisters, Ida Mae Stafford, Arlene Hano, and Wanda Colkmire; brother, John P. Hutchinson; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Boots is preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Wagner, Sr.; parents, Shelly and Millie Blount Hutchinson; daughter, Sherry Hill; great-granddaughter, Shayna Stratton; grandson, Lil Joey Hoyt; siblings, Irene and Larry Hutchinson. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, 12012 Hwy 190 West, Hammond, LA. on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 from 5:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. The visitation will resume on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until the start of the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Bro.
