Louise Reid Sibley
October 16, 1934 - May 7, 2022
Louise, at the age of 87, was called to her heavenly home on Saturday, May 7, 2022, while surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Independence, Louisiana and was a resident of Walker, Louisiana. Her family was her greatest accomplishment in her life. Raising her six children and loving her grandchildren. Louise enjoyed crocheting and you better believe she hand made a blanket for every child and grandchild. Her family would describe her as strong-willed and having a strong loving heart. Even though she had been through many challenging times in her life like breast cancer, she beat it and overcame all of them. She did not let that diminish her heart of gold that loved to care for those in need. Her heart touched many patients that soon became family from being a private sitter. She showed her love also by feeding the people she loved. Louise’s beautiful and kind-hearted spirit will deeply be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her sons, Alvin Sistrunk Jr. (Donna) and Dwayne Sistrunk; daughters, Judy Merge (Ben), Lorina Pardue (Tim), and Denise Sistrunk; 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; special friend, Mike Barcia; numerous nieces and nephews. Louise is preceded in death by her loving husband, Jessie Sibley “JW”; daughter, Linda Sistrunk Lott; great-grandchild, Aubree Brook Griffin; parents, Ida Blount and John Reid; siblings, Jack Bowman, Katherine Wallace, and Helen Bercegeay. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, held in the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, 7738 Florida Blvd. DENHAM SPRINGS, beginning at 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. The visitation will continue on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at The United Pentecostal Church of Holden at 9:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. The interment will follow at Salem Cemetery in Walker, LA.
