Judy Teresa Schilling

January 12, 1956 - March 13, 2020

Judy, age 64, went to her heavenly home on Friday, March 13, 2020 at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond, LA, with her daughters at her side. The daughter of a strawberry farmer, Judy was a life-long resident of Ponchatoula, Louisiana. She graduated from Ponchatoula High School in 1974. After many years of service, she retired from the Louisiana State Department of Transportation and Development. Her faith and her family were Judy’s greatest loves, and her two daughters, Adrianne and Allison, were her greatest accomplishments in life. She enjoyed bird watching, tending to her flower beds, enjoying anything chocolate, and watching classic Westerns on TV. Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Adrianne Roques, and Allison Roques Portier (Steve), and one precious grandson, Steven Paul Portier, III, affectionately known as “Tripp”. She is also survived by three siblings, Rosetta Bennett (Sonny), Suzanne Ballard (Lloyd), and John Schilling (Brenda), as well as many dear nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Annie Schilling Wilson and Clarence Schilling, as well as a sister, Nancy Bankston. The family would like to extend special thanks to Judy’s team of physicians from the North Oaks Pulmonology Clinic, especially Dr. Justin Fowlkes and Dr. Theepa Thaya, as well as the angel nurses at North Oaks Medical Center’s Intensive and Intermediate Care Units. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, Ponchatoula, on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Wadesboro Catholic Cemetery.
