Jerry Anthony Neihaus

January 30, 1940 - August 13, 2020

Jerry Anthony Neihaus, of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2020, at Oak Park Village in Hammond at the age of 80. He was born on January 30, 1940, in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, the son of the late Nick Niehaus and Bridgette Lanoux Niehaus. Jerry graduated from Ponchatoula High School in 1958, and was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He retired as a Bricklayer after 40 years; Also was a member of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craft. Jerry is survived by his Godsons, Morris Mashon (Kari Lewis) and Eric Mashon (Heather Mashon) along with their children Landon Guagliardo, Aubrey, Alexis and Gracee Mashon. Brother Calvin “Oop” Neihaus (Patty Neihaus) Nieces and Nephews Kevin Niehaus, Pam Mchale, Jodi Neihaus Mannie (Kevin Mannie), Judy Neihaus (Rod Thofield), Nicky Joe Niehaus (Kay Sullivan Niehaus), Angie Rose (David Rose), Gina Locicero (Ronnie Locicero), Henry Neihaus (Angie Neihaus) and Stephen Neihaus (Aubrey Neihaus) of Wichita, Kansas. Also great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his brothers; Evans “Fritz” Neihaus and Bobby “Goose” Niehaus (Joyce Ann Penalber Niehaus). The family would like to thank Oak Park Village Hammond and Heritage Hospice for the wonderful care that they showed and ensured that all his needs were met. Jerry was a friend to so many, quite the jokester and provided “Nicknames” that would stick with them forever.Relatives and friends are invited to attend the graveside service at Ponchatoula Cemetery on Tuesday, August 18, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. In Lieu of Flowers, please make donations to St. Jude’s Hospital in Jerry’s name.
