Janet 'Grandma' Larson Pershal Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

By Grandma’s request, we are not mourning her passing. Instead, we are celebrating the long and happy life she’s led. Born May 23rd 1933 in Modesto California. Jan was the only child of Leonard Talford Larson and Mary Pedrazzi. Grandma spent her early life in Patterson California and frequented the apricot farm of her maternal grandparents Albert and Ermina Pedrazzi. After moving to San Diego, California, Jan graduated from Herbert Hoover High School on June 13, 1951. She worked for General Dynamic’s for several decades. During her career, she worked in Texas a lot for CSC-Western Center, Martin Marietta and Lockheed Martin. Late in life, she returned to further her education at National University in San Diego California. This is when she received her masters degree. In 1981 with the National University she traveled for a Ten Day “Pilgrimage to Israel”. With General Dynamic’s Space System Division, Jan traveled all over for Recruiting and to train others on the computer programs. Jan moved to Louisiana to work at the General Dynamic’s facility by the Hammond Airport. When that facility was later closed, she drove daily to the Michoud facility until her retirement. Her retirement was a change of pace for Grandma all of her life busy working she really enjoyed being able to help raise and spend time with her great-grandchildren. During grandma’s life, she met and touched so many lives. So many friends that she treated like family. She leaves behind to honor her memories: daughter, Annette Pershal of San Diego California; granddaughters Brandy Bartholomew Nazworth(Brandon) of Louisiana, Rose LenaMarie Bacon(Christopher) of Tacoma Washington. Great-grandchildren Katelynn, Brookelynn, Shane Bartholomew of Louisiana. Markus, Zoey, Kassandra Bacon of Tacoma Washington. The family also wishes to express gratitude to Southeast Home Health, Dr. Leonard Treanor, North Oaks Medical Center, Ochsner Health and University Medical Center New Orleans LCMC Health. A cremation was held and private family services will be held at a later date.
