Eugene Milton St John

May 20, 1957 - January 30, 2021

Eugene Milton St. John, Jr., a native of Metairie, Louisiana, and a resident of Hammond, Louisiana, died Saturday, January 30, 2021, at the age of 63. Affectionately known as “Jeep,” Gene was a Christian man of faith and was deeply involved in his Church and community. He worked in construction for many years before attending nursing school and serving as a nurse at a wide range of medical facilities in Southeast Louisiana. He was the beloved husband of Tracey Pinney St. John, the loving father of Eugene St. John, III, and Jessica St. John, and the devoted step father of Chris Trombatore (Jamie), Kristin Trombatore, and Kyle Trombatore. He is also survived by three sisters, Mary St. John, Christine Johnson (Greg), and Fayne St. John Cecola (Patrick), and a brother, David St. John, along with his grandchildren, Robbie Trombatore and Ryleigh Cox. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family. Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Milton St. John, Sr., and Beverly Barbee St. John, along with his sister, Barbee St. John Dozier. A celebration of Gene’s life will be held Saturday, February 6th, at 10 am with visitation beginning at 9am. Wellspring Church 2575 Veterans Blvd Hammond, LA 70403 In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Wellspring Church in Hammond or to Celebration Church in Metairie so that the Great Commission may continue to be fulfilled. This was so important to Gene and his greatest love.
