November 15, 1952 - August 27, 2020
Deborah, 67, born November 15, 1952 in Beaumont, TX, peacefully and joyfully accepted God's invitation to enter her perfectly prepared eternal home in Heaven on August 27, 2020. This was an offer she could not refuse. The thought of a new body and mind was simply not in question for her. Deborah was well known for her contagious laugh and entertaining sense of humor. Possessing a true servant's heart, Deborah faithfully cared for her family and friends through constant giving of her time. Serving as a dedicated youth assistant to Pastor T and Sister Rhonda Lobell, Deborah touched and changed many young lives at her church. She never hesitated to roll up her sleeves and dive right in to assist with anything the youth needed. Whether it was getting up at the crack of dawn to go get Krispy Kreme donuts for a fundraiser or playing volleyball with the youth on Youth Night. Throughout Deborah's life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the hearts and trust of many, who even now can say their life has been changed by her constant nurturing faith. Deborah's house was always opened to so many; no invitation was ever needed. Deborah always had a heart for those in need. Especially, the children that she fostered with endless love, along with raising her own four rambunctious boys. She was an exceptional mother to her four biggest fans in life, Chuck, Todd, Jeremy, and Brandon. Her unconditional love for each of them was never questioned. They were her life, her driving force. With every milestone in their life, Deborah reveled in joy and celebration. She was their biggest supporter and their biggest fan. Her boys taught her the true meaning of love. Deborah was extremely proud of the fine young men they became, all their special personalities, their own special sense of humor, talents, accomplishments, and their own way of doing things. She knew as they became adults, they would have times of happiness and disappointments, but she always had faith in their strength and resilience that would see them through any situation. Deborah was extremely blessed to be able to witness her boys becoming strong, faithful husbands and fathers. A true testament of a true determined Christian mother. Her grandchildren were her prized possessions, just the icing on the top. Her heart was swelled with love for them all. Deborah was an extraordinary sister to her five amazing siblings, Leo, Wayne, Sandra, Martha, and Jonathan. They were her built-in best friends. They were the keeper of each other's secrets. Their bond was undeniable. Deborah's siblings and her mother, Mary, were her world. Each played a special role in her life. They were her support system through many of her journeys in life. Deborah's signature gift of joy shown through her constant smile, laughter, and joking around will never be forgotten. She will be greatly missed by so many, just countless people. Deborah taught us all to live as she did, with grace in her steps and heaven in her eyes. Deborah and the family will forever be grateful to the amazing team at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital ICU Department. Special thanks goes out to Dr. Marston and her nurse, Danika. They were our voice of reason on our bad days and our cheering section on our good days. Deborah is survived by her four boys and their spouses, Chuck Simon (Heather), Todd Simon (Tammy), Jeremy Simon (Lindsey), Brandon Simon (Alicia); and twelve grandchildren. Amelia, Hannah, Henri, Christian, Raven, Madison, Miranda, Londyn, Makenna, Nora, Bryce, and Breanna. She is preceded in death by her parents, Virgil, and Mary Craig Werner. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, Denham Springs, on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Gateway Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Livingston.
