Curtis William Wood Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Curtis, age 62, passed away on Thursday, December 9, 2021. He was a native and lifelong resident of Ponchatoula. Curtis was a gifted and skilled craftsman when it came to wood working. You could often find him working on creative projects. Curtis also appreciated listening to good music. He was a kind and gentle soul who loved all sorts of animals, and they loved him in return. Curtis was a selfless and generous individual who would give you the shirt off of his back. He could make friends wherever he was, because he never met a stranger and loved talking to everyone. Curtis’ family always came first; he was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend who is already dearly missed by those that loved him. Curtis is survived by his mother, Annie Mae Portier; sisters Patricia Vining, and Annie Wood; brother, Joseph Portier; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Curtis is preceded in death by his father, William Martin Wood; stepfather, Milton James Portier Sr.; sister, Betty Sue; brothers, Milton James “Buggie” Portier Jr., James Edward Wood, Billy Joe Wood, Clay Wood, and Daniel Wood. PONCHATOULA, LA. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation from the Chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, 1190 Hwy 51 North, Ponchatoula on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 starting at 10:00 a.m. until the beginning of the Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Joe Riccobono will officiate with interment to follow in Holly Gardens Cemetery.
