Anthony “Big O” age 82, passed away on Monday, February 7, 2022. He was a native and lifelong resident of Independence, LA. Family always came first to Anthony who conducted himself daily as a quiet, hardworking, and generous man. He awoke with the sun and never stopped; whether farming crops, tending his livestock, or his gardens. By trade Anthony was a gifted carpenter; always neat and meticulous with every task, while using well-cared for vintage tools. Anthony was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who is already dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Anthony is survived by his daughters, Brigitte Bankston (Barry), Daphne LeBlanc (David); son, Anthony LaMarca (Alex); grandchildren, David, Baileigh (Tyler), Dillon, Brenleigh, Adelyn, Amalie; great-grandchildren, Briggs, Caegan, Link, Lily, Lila, Lina; sister, Jeanette McCahill (Bill); brother, Pascal LaMarca (Gail); brother-in-law, Chuck Heughan; numerous nieces and nephews, along with dear friends, Bruce Neal, Sr., Pat Augello, Charles Canale, and Charlie Canale, Jr. Anthony is preceded in death by his loving wife, Beverly Rivers LaMarca; parents, Pasquale and Sarah LaMarca; and sister, Josie Heughan. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation from the Chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, 12012 Hwy 190 West, Hammond, LA. on Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. A Funeral Mass will begin promptly at 12:00 noon at Mater Delorosa Catholic Church in Independence with interment to follow in Colonial Cemetery. Pallbearers: Tyler Giacone, Barry Bankston, David LeBlanc, Chet Heughan, Dillon LeBlanc, Johnnie Sontongelo, Pat Augello and Todd Vaccaro. Honorary Pallbearers: Anthony LaMarca and Caegan Giacone.
