Adrienne Rodriguez Ayres Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Adrienne Rodriguez Ayres passed away peacefully with her family at her bedside on July 12, 2022. Born December 7, 1934 in New Orleans to Albert and Amelie Druilhet Rodriguez. Adrienne was the wife of the late William Louis Ayres for 58 years. Her greatest joy was being a mother and grandmother to her four daughters, nine grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. She adored her sons-in-law and bragged about how blessed she was to have them in her life. She is a native of New Orleans and spent 38 years in Terrytown raising her family before moving in 2003 to Ponchatoula. A devout Catholic, who adored Saint Anthony, often referring to him as “Uncle Tony”, she prayed daily and found great comfort in her faith. Adrienne is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Denise Ayres Bacon (Dave), Gwen Ayres Accardo (Chris), Eileen Ayres Diaz (Arthur), and Yvette Ayres Dellucky (Jerry). Her grandchildren, who affectionately called her MeMaw: Jonathan (Victoria Archer) and Lauren Bacon (fiancé Reid Higgins), Stephanie Accardo McCloskey (Ryan) and Brett Accardo (Shauna DiGiovanni), Amy, Alex (Lydia Brents), and Dana Diaz, and Brandon (Dr. Halloran Peterson) and Ryan Dellucky. Her great-grandchildren, that brought her immeasurable joy: Olivia DiGiovanni, Lucciano Accardo, and Archer Bacon. She is survived by her sister: Dolores (Susie) Rodriguez Schenck, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. She was predeceased by her husband, William Louis Ayres, and parents, Albert and Amelie Druilhet Rodriguez. The family would like to pay special thanks to Carolina Carranza, Brandi Torres, Susie Schenck, Pam Summers, Caitlin Stafford, and the staff of Passages Hospice, for the incredible support and help you all gave so willingly these past several months. We would be remiss if we did not thank The Times-Picayune/New Orleans Advocate’s entire staff, with special thanks to Sara Barnard, Angela Kercheval and Alisha Owens, for their compassion and understanding during these difficult times.
