William "Ken" Hastings

William Ken Hastings, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2024, at the age of 64. Ken was the cherished son of Malcolm and Sylvia Hastings, who nurtured his spirit and instilled in him the values of hard work and compassion. He attended Hammond High School and Southeastern Louisiana University before beginning his career as a Site Manager for GMP. He dedicated himself to his craft for over 20 years, where his leadership and commitment were admired by colleagues and friends alike. Outside of work, Ken's passions were reflected in his hobbies. He found joy in farming, fishing. and hunting. He also cherished the moments spent antiquing, cooking for large gatherings, and spending time with his grandkids. He is preceded in death by his parents, Malcolm and Sylvia Hastings of Arcola, LA, and grandparents Albert and Lois Miller of Hillsdale, LA and Errol and Hazel Hastings of Baton Rouge LA. Ken is also preceded in death by loving sister, Gwen Hastings Autin, and his nephew, Malcolm Lynn Hastings, Jr. His legacy is carried on by his surviving family, including his spouse, Mary Guileyardo Hastings; his three daughters, Katherine Hastings, Holley Hastings Mars (Jeff), and Molley Hastings Pollet (Mason); and his grandchildren, Scarlette Wren Marrs,Lincoln Davis Pollet, and Jett Michael Marrs. Ken was a proud brother to Malcolm "Bo" Hastings (Glenda), Benjamin Hastings, and Brynn Hastings Campo (Sam). He also leaves behind a large extended family, including nieces and nephews, Angelina Autin Kelly (Scott), Jamie Autin (Chrissie), Ryan Autin (Kayla), Zachary Hastings, Emily Grace Hastings, Lauren Hastings Fowler (Floyd), Jennifer Hastings Stewart (Dustan), Brady Hastings, Brooks Hastings, and Samuel Campo (Kalie), along with numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. Ken also leaves behind many close friends who became like family. In honor of Ken's love for hunting and the outdoors, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Pine Hill Church of Arcola, LA or National Wild Turkey Federation, an organization that champions wild turkey conservation and the preservation of our hunting heritage. Family, friends, and others whose lives Ken touched are invited to the celebration of Ken's life on December 6th, 2024 at Brandon Thompson Funeral Home in Hammond, LA. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM with the service at 12:00 PM.
