Verena Mounce McFadden

Verena, age 89, went to her heavenly home on Friday, April 17, 2026. She was born in Springfield, LA. and grew up in Albany, LA. where she graduated Valedictorian of her high school. Verena was the loving mother of six (6) wonderful sons, and co-owner of Livingston Chiropractic Clinic. She loved growing flowers, and spending time with her family and friends, and sharing her knowledge from a long history of Chiropractic care with her family. Verena loved reading her bible, attending and traveling to religious events, with her close relatives and members of her congregation. Verena is survived by her sons, Bruce McFadden, Marlin McFadden Sr. (Theresa), and Garlan McFadden; sisters, Marie Mounce, Joy Mounce Appleman (Robert), and Annette Mounce Bassett (Lecil); brothers, Clarence L. Mounce, and Malcolm Mounce (Vicky); grandchildren, Joseph McFadden, Serina Colona, Felicia Bankston, Marlin McFadden Jr., Geron McFadden, Sara McFadden, Jacob McFadden, and Elizabeth McFadden; great-grandchildren; Madelyn Bankston, Natalie Bankston, Kade Hoyt, Paisley Hoyt, Nora Kahn, Evelyn McFadden, Lukas McFadden, Aubrey McFadden, and Penny McFadden; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Verena is preceded in death by her loving husbands, Dr. Lyle Edward McFadden, D.C. and Luther Ray Gordon; sons, Geron McFadden, Neilan McFadden and Lecil A. McFadden; grandson, Travis McFadden; parents, Dodson C. and Emma Hill Mounce; grandparents, George and Rosa Mounce, and Ezra Scott and Aline Hill; sister, Dolores Mounce Quave; and brother, Kenneth Mounce. Family would like to give thanks to Egan Hospice organization, especially Kathrine and Michelle for their excellent care and service to Verena. In addition, the family also extends warm love and thanks to June Stafford and Kathy Wayne for their dedicated love, friendship and care of Verena. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Visitation from the Chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, 12012 Hwy 190 West Hammond, LA. on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. until the start of the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Randy Satterfield will officiate with interment to follow in Courtney Cemetery in Holden, LA.
