Sondra “Hunnie” Robinson She was a loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother throughout her life and at the age of 57, Hunnie went home to be with her Lord and Master on Monday, June 2, 2008. Hunnie was born in Independence, a resident of Hammond and a member of Bountiful Blessings Church of God in Christ in Natalbany. She dedicated her life to serving others as being a nurse and she was employed with Tangi Pines Nursing Home. Hunnie was cherished by her surviving husband, Isaac Robinson, Sr. of Hammond and treasured by her children. They are sons, Joseph Butler, Jr. of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Jeff Womack, Hammond; daughters, Terry Burks and husband, John of Atlanta, Georgia; Helen Harris and husband, Isiah of Baker, Louisiana; stepsons, Isaac Robinson, II and Carlon Robinson, both of Hammond; stepdaughters, Tonia Davis and husband, Frank of Magnolia, Mississippi, Tasha Daniels and husband, Byron of Hammond and Tagita Robinson, also of Hammond. She leaves behind her adopted children, T.J. and Chelsea Diamond of Hammond along with 20 grandchildren. Hunnie was one of eleven children. Her surviving brothers are Melvin Hampton Jr. and wife, Judy; Darryl Hampton, Ponchatoula; Leon Hampton and wife, Sherroll of Baton Rouge; Carl Hampton and wife, Sandra of New Orleans; Frank Green, St. Martinsville, Leslie Wayne Foreman and wife, Jeanette of Greensburg. Hunnie’s surviving sisters are Lynn McKee and husband, Steve of Marrero; Lisa Green, Baton Rouge; Tamesia Preston and husband, Richard of Luling and Sandra Fay Bazile and husband, Clifford of Metairie. She was preceded in death by one sister, Zellee Harrell and her parents, Melvin Luvel Sr. and Helen Louise Harrell Hampton. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the dismissal services from the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 6, 2008. Visitation will be Thursday, June 5 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. The church is located at 18307 Old Covington Hwy in Hammond. Rev. Samuel Brown will conduct the services and interment will be in Holly Gardens Cemetery.
