Norma Watts Page

Norma Watts Page, 94, moved to a beautiful home prepared for her in heaven on Satur-day, November 12, 2022. She lived many years in Walker and Livingston, Louisiana, and for the past six years she had been a resident of Golden Age Healthcare and Reha-bilitation Center in Denham Springs, Louisiana, where she was loved by a wonderful staff of caregivers. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Like the noble woman of Proverbs 31, she worked hard caring for her family and serving the needs of others. Her strength and kindness were well suited for her decades of work at Golden Age Nursing Home, Parkland Hospital, and Our Lady of the Lake Hospital Geri-atric Services Department. Several times she was honored for her outstanding service as a Mental Health Technician by hospital administrators. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Link Mitchell (Doug); her sons, Bobby Page (Ruth) and Ronald Page (Joyce); her six grandchildren, Doug Mitchell (Sara), Jodi Mitchell, Anne Page King (Dean), Kody Page (Meghan), Amanda Page Naquin (Jason) and Allison Page Woodland (Christopher), and her sisters-in-law, Linda Thompson Watts and Betty Wheat Watts Thompson. She was blessed with 16 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Arnold Link and Vincent Page; her parents, Charlie Watts and Clara Broussard Watts; and her siblings, Lenora Watts Benton (Elmer), Julius Watts, Myrtle Watts Burge Lea (Austin, Harold), JC Watts (Pearl), Jesse Watts, and Clarence Watts (Mary). She was born into the fellowship of Red Oak Baptist Church where her parents were charter members. It was there she put her trust in Jesus as her Savior and began a life-time of following the Lord. She remained a faithful member of Red Oak Baptist Church throughout her long life. She found great joy in planning trips and traveling to places like Alaska, Arizona, Ar-kansas, Hawaii, Washington DC, Yellowstone National Park, Colorado, California, the mountains of North Carolina and Tennessee, and many other places. She also enjoyed numerous family camping trips. Family and friends loved to gather at her house for a meal. Her gumbo, potato salad, biscuits and gravy, cornbread dressing, and other made-from-scratch specialities were everyone’s favorite. Beautiful flowers always graced her yard and gave evidence of her talent for gardening. Her family and friends will gather to celebrate her life Wednesday, November 16 at 11 a.m. at Red Oak Baptist Church, 28760 Red Oak Road, Livingston, Louisiana. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. and interment immediately following the service in the Red Oak Baptist Church Cemetery. All are invited to stay for a meal in the church fellowship hall.
