Larry Earl Fuscia Larry Earl Fuscia, passed away, January 22, 2024 at the age of 82. A lifelong resident of Ponchatoula, Larry was born March 10, 1941 at Wiginton Hospital, Hammond Louisiana, to his biological parents, Fenton “Bob” Gazaway and Bessie Fuscia Gazaway. After the death of his mother, when he was 2 ½ years old, he was raised by Oliver John “Buck” Fuscia (uncle) and Katie Mae Soape Fuscia (aunt) whom he knew as momma and daddy. After years of their love, care, and support for him, at the age of 18, he felt honored to have his name legally changed to carry the Fuscia name. He graduated from Ponchatoula High School in 1959. Daddy always included the entire family on hunting and fishing trips. He was selfless in these pursuits making sure we always had a good time. He wanted us to understand it was the experience and process of hunting and fishing, not killing or catching. We, his children and grandchildren, pride ourselves to this day in our hunting and fishing adventures to always enjoy the ride and the anticipation. Daddy was always strong, patient, loving and kind. Daddy never met a stranger, he always encouraged us to love, respect, see the need of others, and never think we were better than anyone else. He taught us to work hard, live life to the fullest, love fiercely, and serve the Lord with all our heart. Daddy had a saying, “Life is what happens to you while you are living it.” Through well learned life lessons, shown by his example, he has created a strong bond and legacy among us that we will carry on forever. We are all so blessed to have called him husband, daddy, and pawpaw. He is survived by his high school sweetheart of 63 years, Patricia Ann Coumes Fuscia; daughter Debi Fuscia Jenkins (Roger); son Jeff Fuscia (Kim); three grandchildren, Brittany Jenkins, Bryce Jenkins (Kailey), Landon Delaune and one great grandchild, Briley Kate Jenkins. Also, survived by his sisters, Jet Arlene Brown (Travis) of Dalton GA, Marie Fuscia, along with numerous half-brothers, half-sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his brother Robert Fenton Gazaway, nephew John Jason Fuscia, brother-in-law’s Bobby Hyde and Gene Coumas, sister-in laws, Ann Gazaway, and Linda Coumas. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to join a Visitation in the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home in Ponchatoula, Louisiana on Monday, January 29, 2024 at 4:00 p.m., with a Celebration of Life service to follow the Visitation at 7:00 p.m.
