Bro. Joe, age 71, went to his heavenly home on Sunday, October 23, 2022. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Bro. Joe was a minister’s minister serving his Lord Jesus within his community for decades impacting countless lives for Christ. He always believed in equipping the saints. Senior Pastor of the Hebron Baptist Church in Bush, LA. for 13 years and then Senior Pastor of Bethlehem Baptist in Albany, LA. for 18 years and was currently Interim Pastor at First Baptist Church in Amite, LA. He was never one to sit around. He was always getting into something. Bro. Joe was also a gifted carpenter who made wonderful woodworking that will be handed down for generations to come. His family always came first, even within his favorite hobby of fishing he enjoyed having family and friends with him. Bro. Joe was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who is already dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Bro. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Estelle Graves Dunn; daughter, Amy Dunn Harris (Tony); son, Joseph ‘Jay’ Dunn (Ragan); grandchildren, Joseph ‘Joey’ Harris (Ashley); Matthew Harris, Andrew Harris, and Grant Dunn; great granddaughter, Nora Kate Harris; siblings, Leslie ‘Bubba’ Dunn (Lois), Frank ‘Randy’ Dunn, and Doris Dunn Higgins; sister-in-law, Kathy Hawkins; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Bro. Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Ethel Dunn, Sr. Pallbearers will be Joey Harris, Andrew Harris, Matthew Harris, Grant Dunn, Daniel Hawkins, Colin Higgins, and Lincoln Hawkins. Honorary Pallbearers will be Frank Kovach and Jack Pickard. In lieu of flowers, family requests that donations please be made to either: Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home or Louisiana Baptist Disaster Relief Fund. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation from Bethlehem Baptist Church, 29350 South Montpelier Rd., Albany, LA. on Thursday, October 27, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Friday, October 28, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. until the start of the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Mike Burns will officiate with interment to follow in the church cemetery.
