Jodi Kinchen Spiers

Jodi, age 41, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at her home. She was a native of Ponchatoula and a resident of Prairieville. She was a 1993 graduate of Ponchatoula High School, and a 2003 graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University. Jodi was a Regional VP of Republic Finance Company and also was an active participant for the charity that she felt so strongly for, the Jr. Diabetes Research Foundation. Jodi truly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and loved traveling around the world to find the prettiest beaches. She was extremely intelligent, never late, an incredible cook, and always made everyone’s day better. Jodi was a huge LSU and Saints fan, loved music and dancing, she was always the life of the party and would light up the room wherever she went. She was an incredible woman, who always put her family first. Jodi is a true blessing to those who knew her and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her loving husband of almost 14 years, Christopher Keith Spiers; sons, Brendon Mitchell Wells, Kaleb Christopher Spiers, Jacob Stanley Spiers; parents, Stanley W. and Marian L. Kinchen; grandmother, Betty L. Stewart; in-laws, Charles Spiers, Winton Burnam, Jaqueline Simón; and sisters, Robin Kinchen Cenac and husband Marc, Wendy Kinchen Savarino and husband Tony. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law, Chuck Spiers, Mark Spiers; sister-in-law, Valerie; nieces, Bette Savarino, Octavia Blaize Spiers, Tori Spiers, Brittany Spiers, Alexis Pitts; nephews, Trevor Rogers, Blaine Rogers; her loving work family; cats, Mike the Tiger, Gershwin; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jodi was preceded in death by her grandparents, D.D. and Mabel Lawrence, Lawrence Stewart; uncles, Dr. Darrell Lawrence, Timothy Lawrence; and aunts, Carol Fedele, Patricia Kinchen. She will be missed as a loving mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, Ponchatoula, on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. till 9:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. until the Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Mike will officiate and interment will follow in Wetmore Cemetery. The family requests either pink flowers or donations may be made to Jr. Diabetes Research Foundation in honor of Jodi.
