Jerry Lee Amerson

Jerry Lee Amerson, age 51, passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at his residence in Independence, LA. He was a parishioner of Holy Ghost Catholic Church, and a member of The City Club of Hammond and Covey Rise. He was the co-owner of TEC (Tangi Energy Conservation) along with his longtime business partner and friend, Jeremy Robinson. When it came to friends, Jerry had many and he loved them all. He had a strong work ethic, but was never too busy to help a person in need. He was generous, kind, and had a great sense of humor. He was always prepared with a joke, prank, or a wisecrack. What truly made Jerry happy was making others happy. One of the ways he accomplished that was by cooking delicious meals for his family and friends, with hibachi on the Blackstone being among his favored specialties. As an avid outdoorsman, Jerry enjoyed duck hunting with his beloved dog Hank, deer hunting, fishing, and boating. Above all else, family was paramount in his life. He was incredibly proud of his children and had an immense love for his wife and high school sweetheart, Belinda. As a father, Jerry found great fulfilment. He was involved in all aspects of his children’s lives and loved nothing more than spending time with them. He leaves behind his devoted and loving wife, Belinda Kinchen Amerson; children, Colin Lee Amerson, Parker Matthew Amerson, and Clara Grace Amerson; mother, Judy Amerson Morgan; sister, Jackie Amerson Maddox (Steven); sister-in-law, Brenda Deslatte (Kenny); brother-in-law, Randy Kinchen (Lanette); aunts, Annamae Amerson, and Wanda Vickery; nieces and nephews, Jessie Saucier (James), Amanda Sistrunk, Laramie Kinchen, Justin Slade, Johnny Needham, Scotty Needham, Joey Needham, and Dakota Kinchen. Jerry was preceded in death by his twin sister, Jenny Amerson Needham; uncle, Harold Amerson; aunt, Norma Strate. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, 12012 Highway 190 West Hammond LA 70401, on Friday, October 29, 2021 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm and again on Saturday, October 30, 2021 from 9:00am until 12:00pm. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 12:00pm, with Father Cayet Mangiaracina officiating and interment following in Old Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home of Hammond.
