Ida Mae Hutchinson Stafford

Ida Mae, age 88, accepted Jesus Christ as a teenager and served Him faithfully with her husband throughout her life and raising her children to do the same. She went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, February 25, 2025. She was a native of Albany, LA. and longtime resident of Denham Springs, LA. Ida Mae was a Homemaker and mom who loved to fish and often beat her husband catching the biggest fish. Her fondest memories were to the camp, fishing and spending time with family, both immediate and extended. She took great pride in having a clean house, and cooking for her family and making homemade biscuits to eat. Ida Mae was very proud of accomplishing her GED in her 30’s. She was also known for fixing the best Strawberry Shortcake in town, Homemade Biscuits, and she was asked to bring her Chocolate ‘No Bake’ Cookies to every birthday or party. Serving her Lord and Savior Jesus always came first, loving and caring for her husband Huey, their two sons and spoiling her grandchildren was a close second. She loved to laugh and was told often how funny she was. She was the oldest, with three sisters and one brother that she loved dearly and was considered as a 2nd Mother to them. Ida Mae was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who is already dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Ida Mae is survived by her loving husband of 69 1/2 years, Huey Dalton Stafford; sons, Larry Stafford (Annette), and Blaine Stafford (Tedra); grandchildren, Jerica Stafford Baker (Derek), Joshua Stafford (Amanda), and Nathan Stafford; great-grandchildren, Mya Baker, and Huey Baker; sisters, Arlene Hano (Jr. Hano), and Wanda Cokmire (Floyd); brother, John Hutchinson (Geraline); along with numerous nieces and nephews. Ida Mae is preceded in death by her parents, Shelly and Millie Hutchinson; grandparents, Thomas and Nettie Hutchinson, and Robert and Ida Blount; sisters, Mary ‘Boots’ Wagner, and Edith Irene Hutchinson; and brother, Larry Hutchinson. HAMMOND, LA. (Thursday Night) Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Visitation from the Chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, 12012 Hwy 190 West, Hammond, LA. on Thursday, February 27, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. ALBANY, LA. (Friday Morning) Visitation will resume at Blood River Baptist Church, 31138 Pea Ridge Rd., Albany, LA. on Friday, February 28, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
