Grace Nell Turk

Grace, age 90, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, July 22, 2026. She was a resident of Hammond, LA. A faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church, she rarely missed a Sunday service. Her faith wasn't something she simply talked about, it was the way she lived. Grace always tried to do the right thing, treating others with kindness and respect. Nothing brought her more joy than her family. She was a proud mother and grandmother, and caring for her children and grandchildren was truly the greatest blessing of her life. Whether it was offering encouragement, sharing a meal, celebrating life's milestones, or simply being there when someone needed her, she made each member of her family feel loved beyond measure. Grace found happiness in the little things, a beautiful bouquet of flowers, lunch with family or friends, and an afternoon spent shopping. She also had a special gift that everyone who knew her appreciated; she could always find the perfect greeting card. Grace somehow knew exactly what words would brighten someone's day, and her handwritten messages came straight from the heart. She never forgot a birthday, making sure the people she loved always felt remembered and celebrated. Grace will be remembered for her warm smile, caring heart, quiet strength, and unwavering faith. She lived a life centered on love, love for God, love for her family, and love for others. The example she set and the memories she created will remain in the hearts of those who knew her. Grace is survived by her husband, Charlie Marcus Turk Sr.; daughters, Myra Camp (Jerry), Joyce Turk (Russell), Lacy Knowles (Johnny); son, Charlie ‘Mark’ Turk Jr. (Renee); grandchildren, Joey Hunt (Kallie), Charlie Turk III (Susan), Justin Rodgers (Megan), Tina Purvis (Colin), Paul Knowles, Deanna Kyle (Alvin), Ethan Turk (Katie); and great-grandchildren, Paisley Hunt, Addie Hunt, Morgan Purvis, Macie Purvis, Bryleigh Purvis, Cole Turk, Kailyn Rodgers, Khali Rodgers, Michael Kyle, and Brooklyn Knowles. Grace is preceded in death by her parents, Edmond and Ollie Hixon; sisters, Edwina Hall, Mary Voncile Cale; brothers, Emory “Dillard” Hixon, William Thomas Hixon; and grandson, Jedidiah Kent. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Trinity Baptist Church, 42062 Pumpkin Center Rd., Hammond, LA. on Saturday, August 1, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
