Gisele Lamouranne Cottingham

Gisele “Babygirl” Lamouranne Cottingham, age 62, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at her home in Ponchatoula, Louisiana. Gisele was born on August 23, 1963, in Metairie, Louisiana, to John and Dora Lamouranne. She shared 41 loving years of marriage with her devoted husband, William “Billy” Cottingham. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Dora; her parents in-law W. O. and Alpha Cottingham; her brothers, John “Butch” Lamouranne, David Lamouranne, and Leon “Chookie” Lamouranne; and sisters-in-law, Mary C. Lowe (Bill) and Jennie Wren Cottingham. Gisele is survived by her beloved husband, Billy Cottingham; her cherished fur babies, Bessie and Cookie Man; sisters-in-law, Barbara Lamouranne, Jan Lamouranne, Sue C. Price (Harold), brother-in-law Watson Cottingham (Beverly), and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will forever treasure her memory. Gisele dedicated her life to helping others as a community educator and passionate advocate against child sexual abuse, rape, and incest. She was deeply committed to protecting children and supporting survivors. She also had a love for genealogy, music, and connecting with people wherever life took her. Over the course of 20 years, Gisele traveled throughout the country with her husband for his work, from Minnesota to New Jersey to Washington state, making lifelong friendships everywhere they went. The family would like to extend special thanks to St. Tammany Parish Hospital, Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, Dr. Malik and staff, Kathy Crossin (California), Keven and Alexandra Rapp (Ohio), and neighbors Glenda and Connie for their love, care, and support during Gisele’s journey. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Gisele’s memory to the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center. Gisele’s kindness, strength, humor, and loving spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. PONCHATOULA, LA. Thompson Funeral Home, 1190 Hwy 51 North, Ponchatoula, LA. on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. until the start of the Memorial Service at 3:00 p.m.
