Gerald L. Bahm

Gerald Louis Bahm, age 62, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2020. He was born on April 21,1958, in New Orleans, LA, to Robert Louis and Anna Bahm. Gerald met Alice Russell who became his best friend and the love of his life at the young age of 15. They married in 1974 and had two children, Gerald and Victoria. Gerald and Alice spent many happy years together. Gerald loved life and loved his family. He spent many days with them exploring Bedico Creek and Tangipahoa River. He taught his children and grandchildren the beauty of outdoors and the importance of family time. His wife and children cherish memories of him loading up the boat after work and school for an evening of fishing on the river. Those were good days. All his life, Gerald has been creative with his hands. He could envision a project and make it come to reality. He built the houses to which his family grew up in and has touched the lives of many people. Most recently, Gerald was working for Volunteers of America where he was able to use his talents to bless those in need. Gerald was preceded in death by his father, Robert Louis Bahm; his mother Anna Breckwoldt Bahm; and his brothers Lyle, Ray, and Ronnie. Gerald is survived by his wife, Alice Gail Bahm; his children and their spouses, Victoria and Dale Derks, Gerald and Tina Bahm, his grandchildren, Julia, Jolie, Olivia, Robert, Gabriel, and Dale; and his brothers, Robert F., David, Steve, and Mark. Gerald was a genuine man who played as hard as worked. He loved Jesus and forgave with a grateful heart. To all of you who have had the opportunity to know Gerald, know that he loved you dearly, and until you are reunited in Heaven, you can carry fond memories in your heart. Never forget his fun-loving smile. He is looking down on you and smiling today. -------------- A celebration of life will be planned for Mr. Gerald around his birthday. Immediate family and close friends are invited to attend a grave-side service in the memory of Mr.Gerald Bahm on December 5th, at 11:00 am, at Bankston Cemetery. Directions will be posted below.
