Eva "Estelle" Dubois

Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints. Ps 116:15 Eva Estelle McDonald Duffy Dubois was born on August 18, 1926 to Holland and Elizabeth McDonald. On Friday, October 11, 2024, surrounded by her family in her home, she peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was 98 and loved by everyone who knew her. Some of her favorite things to do were reading and studying her Bible, baking cakes and sweets, making jams and jellies, and talking and visiting with family and friends. She was sharp as a tack until the very end of her long, blessed life. Estelle called every member of her family on their birthday each year and baked cakes until there were too many children and birthdays to bake for. She also loved to crochet, and she was really good at it. Every baby in the family had a crocheted blanket from MawMaw Estelle. It would be impossible to count how many cakes she baked and how many blankets she crocheted in her life. She taught Sunday School for many years at Doyle Baptist Church in Livingston, LA, and touched many lives. Devoted to following Jesus, she prayed for her family daily, and her wish was that all people would know Him as their Savior. She was greatly loved and will be sorely missed. She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, her husband of 53 years, John Allen Duffy, her son, Kelly Duffy, and three great grand-daughters, Grace and Addie Duffy, and Jourdan Sibley. Also, preceding her in death was her husband of 20 years, Huey Dubois, and step-grand-daughter CC Dubois. She is survived by two children: her son, Larry Duffy and wife Elaine, her daughter, Johnice Sibley and husband Malcolm, daughter-in-law: Daisy Duffy, eight grand-children: Leann LaVergne (Guy,) Bradley Duffy (Chrissy,) Kirk Duffy, Bruce Duffy (Dana,) Kendall Sibley, Clint Duffy, Nickey Duffy (Hope,) Jo Lynn Hegwood (Jarrod,) 18 great-grandchildren, and 17 great-great-grand-children. She is also survived by four step-children: Michael Dubois, Linda White, Bruce Dubois, and Johnny Dubois (Genelda,) five step-grand-children, and four step-great-grand-children. Visitation will be at Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home at 12012 Hwy 190W, Hammond, 70401 on Monday, October 14 beginning at 10am with religious service beginning at 1pm and conducted by Dr. Leo Miller and Rev. Jarrod Hegwood. Pallbearers will be grandsons: Brad Duffy, Kirk Duffy, Bruce Duffy, Kendall Sibley, Clint Duffy, and Nickey Duffy.
