Diane Danette Broussard

Danette Whitehead Broussard, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother went to meet her Lord and Savior on February 1, 2024, at the age of 55 after a lengthy battle with illness. She passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving husband and children. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Lance Broussard; son, Garrett Broussard and wife Laura; daughter, Kara Broussard; grandson, Jace Broussard; mother, Diane Whitehead; brother, Bryan Whitehead and wife Debbie; father-in-law Louis Broussard and wife Sandra; sister-in-law, Jan Broussard Bernath and husband Frank; niece and nephews; and special friend Renee’ Comish. She is preceded in death by her sister, Cynthia Michelle Whitehead; father, Gary Lee Whitehead; and mother-in-law, Imelda Broussard. Danette was born on April 26, 1968, and resided in Livingston, LA for all her life. She graduated from Doyle High School in 1986 and from Southeastern Louisiana University in 1990 with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She retired after 20 years of service as a teacher at Doyle Elementary School, and later returned to Doyle High School as a career counselor. Danette loved each and every one of her students and had a positive influence on so many young lives that she touched throughout her career. Danette loved spending time with her family, especially her grandson, Jace, who stole her heart and brought her tremendous joy the last two years of her life. She was also a loving caretaker for her mother-in-law and several other elderly friends and family members. Danette was one of God’s most glorious creations and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She will forever be in our hearts. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 5 from 6pm to 9pm and will resume Tuesday, February 6 at 10am until service at 12pm at First Baptist Church, 29401 S. Frost Rd., Livingston, LA. Dr. Roger Sullivan will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate the life of this special person. Instead of traditional funeral attire, we welcome attendees to wear purple, Danette’s favorite color, to celebrate her vibrant life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
