Clyde E. Palmer

Clyde E. Palmer Clyde was called home by his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at his residence in Walker, LA at the young age of 86 even though he thought he would live forever. During the Korean Conflict he proudly serviced his country in the U.S. Navy on board a navy destroyer. He retired from South Central Bell after 37 years of dedicated service. Clyde served as a member and past President of Livingston Parish School Board. He also served as President of the Livingston Parish Fair for many years and an honorary member up until his passing. Clyde was the owner of Clyde Palmer Real Estate from 1975 until 2005, before he turned it over to his children, Lynn and Billy. He was a past president of his hunting club and Denham Springs Rotary Club and was also a member of the Millwright Union Local 720. Clyde was the patriarch of his family, who enjoyed hunting, fishing, tending to his vegetable garden, but most of all spending time with his family. He was a wonderful man who will be truly missed. Clyde is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Addie Warren Sartwell Palmer; daughter, Lynn Palmer Sibley and husband Mark Robin; son, Billy D. Palmer; daughter-in-law, Sylvia Matherne Palmer; son-in-law, Kerney Arnold; grandchildren, Matthew Robin Sibley and wife Devon, Hannah Lindsey Sibley, DVM, and fiancée Nicholas, Katie Clyde Arnold, and Kerney Jacob Arnold; great-grandchildren, Addie Sibley and Layla Sibley; nieces and nephews, Randy and Lisa Koles, Chattelle Jackson, Buren Palmer, and Pam Palmer-Pearce; sister, Theresa Palmer Jackson, and Dianne Palmer Johnson; and brother, Tillman Palmer and wife Bobbie. He is preceded in death by his son, Warren E. Palmer; daughter, Jan Clyde Palmer Arnold; parents, Calvin and Dena Palmer; brother, Billy Palmer; niece, Tawnya Jackson; and his nephew, “Jake” Cogley. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Judson Baptist Church where he was a lifelong member, on Saturday, April 8, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until the Celebration of Life Service at 1:30 p.m. Interment to follow in the Church Cemetery.
