Charles "Verne" Kyzar

Charles “Verne” Kyzar Charles, age 73, peacefully passed away at his home on Wednesday, January 4, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He was a hardworking man who had a passion for getting his hands dirty from a young age growing up on a dairy farm. From then on he became a successful man who has dabbled in dirt equipment, gravel pit, and the lawn and garden business making sure that his family was taken care of. Verne was a simple man, who had a love for animals and also was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. He was a one of a kind person, who got a kick out of making people laugh, but most of all he loved to spend time with his family and make lasting memories with them, traveling and teaching life lessons along the way. Verne leaves behind his adoring wife of 53 loving years, Elizabeth “Sissy” Kyzar; daughters, Barbie Kyzar Coffey and husband David, Charlotte Schexnayder and husband Jimmy; grandchildren, Erica Freeman and husband Duke, Dustin “Buck” Boudreaux and wife Kayla, Dawson, Bayleigh, Chloe Grace, and Luke Schexnayder; great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Gracie, Miley Freeman, Aiden Charles and Rowan Boudreaux; honorary grandson, Dolan Schexnayder; his beloved pets, Dawg and Jack; as well as numerous special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Preceding Verne in death were his parents, Charles Fred and Ruby Kyzar; son-in-law, Ben Womack; siblings, Earl “Rack” Kyzar, Janice Robinson, Carl Kyzar and LeeRoy Kyzar. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, Hammond on Saturday, January 7, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Sunday, January 8, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until the Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 p.m. with interment to follow in Daddy’s Place. The family would like to give a special thanks to his friend and doctor, Dr. Tahseen Rab, as well as Dr. Gupta and Dr. Antoun for their wonderful care.
