Anthoney Filer

Anthoney, age 7, went Home to Jesus on Thursday, August 27, 202. He was a resident of McComb, MS. Anthoney was Mama’s boy through and through. Wherever Mama was, that’s where he wanted to be, and their bond was something truly special. Anthoney loved being outside, especially when there was dirt to play in, lizards and frogs to catch, or a little mischief to get into. He enjoyed going fishing or crabbing and playing with his brother and sisters. Anthoney had a way of finding fun wherever he went and brought life into every room he entered. From a very young age, Anthoney had a deep sense of faith and always talked about Jesus. Even through the many medical problems he faced, he kept believing and kept fighting. His body may have been through more than most children could ever understand, but his faith never left him. More than anything, Anthoney loved his family. He loved being with the people who loved him, and he made memories that will stay with us forever. Seven years was not nearly long enough, but every one of those years was filled with moments we will hold onto for the rest of our lives. We will miss his little voice, his hugs, his adventures, and all the trouble he could find. Most of all, Mama will miss having her boy right beside her. He is survived by his mother, Tessa Filer; stepfather, Matthew Ladnier; sisters, Heavven Filer, Paulina Filer, Tori Ladnier; brother, William Ladnier; grandparents, Shauna and Daniel Chauvin, Jason Smith; aunt, Kristina White; uncles, James Albarado (Kayleigh Smith), Derek Smith; great-aunt, Virgie Ladnier; and great-grandmother, Zalene Massey. Anthoney is preceded in death by his sister, Leighla Yarbrough; grandmother, Leanna Marshall; and grandfather, Val Marshall. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home at 7738 Florida Blvd. Denham Springs, LA 70726, on Saturday, September 5, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Crochet Family Cemetery.
