Allen Warren Bankston Allen Warren Bankston, born October 9, 1926, went to be with his heavenly father at 5:20 a.m. on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at North Oaks due to acute myeloid leukemia. He was a life-long resident of Natalbany. He was a retired electrician. For many years he served as deacon, music minister, and he taught Sunday school at Wardline Baptist Church. He served six years on the Tangipahoa Parish School Board and he was a member of the Livingston Masonic Lodge 160 for more than fifty years. He was an avid farmer and dearly loved hunting and fishing. Bro. Allen never met a stranger and all who knew him appreciated his love for quoting scripture. He was also a very gifted genealogist. Allen leaves behind his loving wife, Earline Prevost Bankston; his sons, David Bankston and wife Sandra and Mark W. Bankston and wife Jerri; his daughters, Brenda Bankston Doherty and husband Robert and Judy Davis Posey and husband Jeff; his sisters, Christine Bankston Lanier, Lettie Bankston Oliver and husband Sammy; and his brother, Luther LV Bankston. He was blessed with ten grandchildren, Jared Addison, Jeremy Addison, Heather Doherty Saragusa, Robin Doherty, Yancy Bankston, Kimberlee Bankston Saragusa, Jerri Anna Bankston, Emily Bankston, Ryan Bankston and Chad Monistere; and fourteen great-grandchildren. Allen is preceded in death by his first wife, Marion Lee Bankston; his son, Jerold Allen Bankston; his daughter, Linda Bankston Addison; his mother, Minnie Martins Bankston; his father, Rufus Elmore Bankston; his brother, Alden Bankston; and his granddaughter Christal Bankston. His grandsons will proudly serve their grandfather as pallbearers. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the religious services from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, west of Hammond, on Friday, April 20, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home chapel on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., with Masonic services beginning at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral service time. Rev. Mitch Williams and Rev. Chris Fernandez will officiate the services and interment will follow in the Gatlin Cemetery.
