Patricia Flynn Mata

Patricia, age 89, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, November 12, 2024. A native of New Orleans, and a longtime resident of Hammond, LA. She graduated college with honors and later became a medical transcriber. Patricia received several awards throughout her life and everyone knew her to always be on top of whatever she put her mind to. Patricia loved going to the senior citizen center in Hammond to socialize and make friends. In 2019, she won the Tangipahoa Parish Senior Citizen pageant and became the 2019 Queen. Patricia’s TV was tuned in to ‘Come On Down’ with her favorite personality Bob Barker. Her family always came first. She loved spoiling her husband and visiting with other family members. Patricia was still madly in love with the love of her life and got to join him on their 57th wedding anniversary. Patricia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who is already dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Patricia is survived by her daughters, Holly Mata (Teri), Barbara Chandler (Jim), and Blanche Mata; bonus sons, Alex and Bobby Mata; grandchildren, Phillip Chandler, Justin Mata, Tony Miller, Mia Mata, James Chandler Jr., Adam Cantrelle, Alex Mata Jr., Brandi Mata, Bobby Mata Jr., Jarrod Mata and Kristi Mata; great grandchildren, Willow, Delilah, Ailani, Giovanni, Ozzy, Poppy, Addison, Rayna, James, Preston, Lil Adam, Camille, Nola, Alexis, Brody, Aden and Ava; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Paticia is preceded in death the love of her life, husband Arthur Mata; sons David Mata, and Billy Mata; grandsons Caden Mata, and Leim Mata; granddaughter, Faith Cantrelle; mother, Evelina Weber; father, Donald Flynn; sisters, Maureen and Kathy; and one brother, Donald Flynn.
