Jose Carmen Godinez

Jose Carmen Godinez Carmen was born in Teneria del Santuria Celaya, Guanato Mexico on March 12,1971. He was raised by his two loving parents Jose Guadalupe Godinez and Esperanza. Carmen was 1 of 12 children, and according to his mother he probably was the one that got into the most trouble, but he was also the one that was up the earliest to help with anything he could before he completed his own chores faster than anyone else, so he could be out the door and off to play until she had to wrangle him in at night. Those are traits that Carmen carried with him in his adult life. He was the first up in the mornings to start the day with his girls, before he was out the door and off to work to finish up as fast as he could so he could be back home with them. Then later the same with his beloved grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. You never knew what you look out the window and see them doing. Because of this, he taught his kids and grandchildren things no school book ever could. What greater legacy could a man leave, and he was a man among men. Carmen is survived by his wife of 30 years Barbara Bailey Godinez, his daughter Caitlynn Godinez Hoyt and husband Josh, his beloved grandchildren Carter, Madison, and Raeah. His daughter Madalynn Godinez and fiancé Samuel and their precious daughter Arile. His beloved mother Maria Esperanza Godinez. Special nephew Dustin Bailey and Heather and his honorary granddaughters Ava and Ella. Delta Bailey (Nadine), Tristan (Jordan), Wyatt Bailey. His brothers Felipe Godinez (Aracely), Rene Godinez (loupe), Jose Guadeloupe Godinez (lupita), Antonio Godinez (bellia). Sisters Antonia Godinez Sanchez (Gustavo), Marina Godinez Gamez (Ernesto), Ana Godinez, Melana Godinez. Nieces Valeria, Melissa, Christy, Esperanza. Nephew Felipio. He is proceeded in death by his father Jose Guadeloupe Godinez Sr., sister Isela Godinez, brothers Gilberto Godinez, Artimio Godinez, niece Monse Godinez. If Carmen could leave one thing behind it would be, always put family first, even before yourself, teach them who you want them to be and always remember where you come from. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home at 12012 Hwy 190 W. Hammond, LA 70403 on Sunday from 6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. and visitation will continue Monday from 8:00 a.m. until the funeral service 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow in Joiner Cemetery. After the service, the family would like to invite everyone to join them at the Front porch in Robert la, lunch will be provided to celebrate the amazing life of Jose Carmen Godinez
