Jacqueline Simon

Jacqueline, age 71, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, January 11, 2024. She was native of Crowley, LA. and a lifelong resident of Pineville, LA. Jacqueline served for many years as the Vice-President of the Alexandria Association for the Deaf. She was wonderfully kind-hearted woman, with a smile that could light up the room. Don’t let your guard down though…she was 5 feet of pure dynamite. Her precious Winton expanded her horizons into those hobbies previously not explored. Jacqueline loved a good joke and had lots of friends. She was an excellent photographer, and while travelling she made wonderful lasting memories. Jacqueline was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who is already dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Jacqueline is survived by her loving husband, Winton Burnaman, Jr.; daughter, Valerie Salter (Jason); sons, Mark Spiers (Jessica), Keith Spiers, Chuck Spiers (Brenda), and Ray Jr. (Rachel); grandchildren, Brittany, Tori, Austin, Alexis, Rayden, Eliana, Brendon (Thao), Kaleb, Jacob, Trevor, Blaine (Aly), Octavia, and Felicity; great-grandchildren, Skylar, Ember, Rosalie, and Nathan; siblings, Tanya Lewis, Gail Cashi, Mark Fox, Carrie Simon, Roland ‘Jamie’ Simon, Jr., Herbert Fox, and Katherine Galiana; niece, Julie Sasser, along with numerous other nieces and nephews. Jacqueline is preceded in death by her stepmother, Emma Simon; parents, Roland ‘Peewee’ and Esther Lou Absire Simon, Sr.; daughter-in-law, Jodi Kinchen Spiers; siblings, Sue Hollie, Tommy Borque, Joey Fox, and infant Paul. Pallbearers will be Brendon, Jacob, Kaleb, Trevor, Blaine, Teddy, Westin, Thomas, and Ethan. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation from the Chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, 1190 Hwy 51 North, Ponchatoula, LA. on Thursday, January 18, 1024 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Friday, January 19, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. Brother Franklin Parker will officiate with interment to follow in Wetmore Cemetery. Service will be interpreted by Tom Willis.
