Amber Renée Gregoire Gardner

Amber, age 54, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2024. She was born and raised in Ponchatoula, where she was heavily involved in the community. She was a natural born educator, and a School Board Administrator. Amber taught at and later became principal of Tucker Elementary School, where she was once a student. She loved and adored every student that she took in her care. She later became an Elementary Curriculum Supervisor for Tangipahoa Parish School System. Amber had a creative spirit that was shown in her photography and paintings. She was an avid reader and coffee drinker. She was known by her family to be a prankster and loved to laugh and make people laugh. She loved to dress up as movie and book characters for holidays and school events. Amber was Homecoming Queen in 1987 and Strawberry Festival Queen in 1988. Above all else, Amber’s true joy was spending time with her family and loved ones. Whether it was the holidays or watching her kids and grandkids play sports she enjoyed spending time with them. Her grandbabies who lovingly named her GiGi and her nephews that named her Nanna truly owned her heart. Amber will forever be loved and greatly missed by all those that loved her. Amber is survived by her daughters, Megan Averitt (Justin) and Victoria Troxler (Hayley); son, John Robert Gardner (Jenison); mother, Cynthia Bates Gregoire; sisters, Andrea LeFebvre (Andrew Sr.) and Yvette Gregoire Cornish (Christopher); grandchildren Kai, Barrett, and grandchild on the way; nephews, Andrew LeFebvre Jr. (Jenna) and son Anderson, and Christopher LeFebvre and daughter Lily, Trey Singleton, and Gregory Singleton; and niece, Brynn Henry; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Thompson Funeral Home, 1190 Hwy. 51 North Ponchatoula, La 70454, on Friday, May 17, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and continuing on Saturday, May 18, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. where we will go in procession to the Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ponchatoula, on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. Fr.
